Hey there

I'm dan and live in Wake Forest.  I have been looking at Scott and Joe's adventures for some time now.  I also wanted to thank both of them for a great field trip on Saturday.

Joe the construction I was talking about is North of 96 about 1.5 miles south of NC 56.

I have collected for about 30 years off and on but do not come near the dedication of Joe and Scott.  I try to get cabinet specimens and have a pretty fair collection.  That is is for the time being.  Thank, Dan  Smiley

Welcome aboard, Dan.  As AmGuy mentioned, please post photos of your specimens.

Do you collect any favorite species, or  a generalist?  I have specimens from all over the world, but now concentrate on NC specimens.  My favorite mineral is beryl with all of its color variants.

It looks like we have Wake Forest well represented on this forum.  You're just up the road from me....I live in Cary.  I hope to see you at a future Tar Heel Gem and Mineral Club meeting.

Welcome Dan, Glad you made it.

No, if it is North of 96, I have not seen it yet.
Yes, we will have to check it out. Smiley

I am staying close to home this weekend so might have a
chance to get out there and check it out. I'll let you know.

Well it's good you see our obsessive compulsiveness as "dedication" Dan.   Grin  The club field trip to the quarry was indeed fun.  I'm glad we were all able to find some nice specimens.  See you at the meeting.
