Here is a rock I purchased from a dealer who gave me a short wave lamp to look through a big box of fluorescent rocks.  This was the brightest rock in the box.

Calcite (red, orange)
Willemite (green)
Franklinite (small black crystals)

Well Scott, it looks like you included every form of luminescence know to man in the header!  Great thread and great photos of the NJ specimen and the Lee Co. barite/calcite.

Here are two photos of a Franklin specimen with a similar assemblage of minerals that weighs 6+ lbs.

I moved the camera taking this shot, but I loved the effect of what appears to be colorful gases being emitted from the specimen.

I need to improve my UV photography set-up before I attempt to do more.  Keep posting more photos.  They're neat.

Nice photos Dennis.  I do like the trailing effect on the second photo -- a very neat accident.

I have a couple of these willemite specimens. I don't have a UV light though.

Rick B traded me some savanah river agate that supposedly glows green. Has anybody checked that stuff for glow?
