super hot quartz Scott! just beautiful.
And I love those red crystals fireonthemountain has found close to her home, previously.
ok I miss crystal structure! I am going blind looking at cryptocrystalline through loupes and strong glasses.

Here are some micro (anywhere from 1.5 - 2 mm) fadens I recently discovered. The fadens are light wisps running vertically through the length of the fadens.  Unfortunately, because of the nature of quartz and how it can wash out a photo, compounded by the fact that the fadens are so small, I wasn't able to portray their full brilliance. It's a totally different world using a loupe.

Well Scott, The second to last picture of the solo crystal on a pedestal is awesome! I have gone back through my meager selection of specimens from that site and did not find any fadens like those. If I have any you will have to take a picture of them so I can see them. Wink

But, coincidentally enough,  I finished cleaning this crazy crystal conglomerate from our last visit and started looking at it with Faden on the brain.  First I said yes, then no, and now I'm leaning yes again.
Either way, its a cool new dimension to the quartz from this site.

First 2 pics are Side A, Pic 3 is back or Side B.
