Big crystal, Big vein, and it doesn't look to be too far below

smokies in Union county?!?! say it ain't so!

I pulled some very small chlorite phantom crystals, very opaque, from near Hemby Bridge several years back. Is this the result of searching construction or simply a hunch on private land? I believe there's work happening on the 74 bypass soon, wonder if it will lead to anything? I hate I wasn't that into rocks when 485 went in, were you able to get out then and find anything?

Well Dave, you are realllllyyyyyy close...And yes that area of 485 was a gem mine of many sorts..And the area you spoke of turned up a single smoky at 50 + pounds..Most of the finds down that way where from lots of walking..
