No problem.  They are unique and extraordinary enough to deserve their own category.

Can you gives us some information on this "type" of meteorite, location, etc, and especially why it is one of your favorite types.  Thanks John.

Howardites.....

Howardites are suspected to come from the asteroid, Vesta,.  We currently have probes in orbit near Vesta.  Analysis of reflected light from Vesta match the composition similar to a eucrite-diogenite mixture like that of Howardites.
Howardites are achondrites and are part of one of the rarer types in the total number of meteorites that have been found.  Most folks think of an iron mass when they hear the word meteorite.  But most meteorites are stone meteorites.  I just enjoy having some of the rarer types of meteorites in my collection. Cheesy  Have included another Howardite for study.

Great picture.  It is difficult to fathom just how rare these things are.  I'm fascinated by their mystery and their journey through space and time.
