Joe and I have found anatase included crystals at this site.  And here Joe finds a killer crystal lying on the surface.

That is fantastic!!  I wil;l call Joe the "surgeon".  He extracts that crystal with precision!!!  Good clean video.  No shakyness to it.  Well done guys.  How far is this from your houses?

Hey AG, Dr. J. Ho here. Wink
This spot is on the east side of Raleigh. Wake Forest is on the
north. So this is about 15 miles from the house.
We really messed up on this one pocket from here. It was
probably the biggest and best pocket we've stumbled on
to date in Wake Co, but the backhoe beat us to it and
the first sign we saw of it was what was scattered across
the site. They had already partially backfilled and we
debated about re-digging it out because of the nice large
crystals we were finding on the surface, but didn't.
Then we got home and cleaned the crystals up and that's
when Scott found the small golden anatase crystals on the
stuff. A First for Wake County.
We went back next chance we got but they had already
filled in more and smoothed it over, so we didn't go for it.
Again, we should have, but didn't.
Oh well, live and learn............but the remains of the best
pocket we've ever seen in Wake County is probably just
sitting there a few feet under the surface. Dagnabbit!

Joe

So do the anatase have the di-pyramidail looking habit?  Any luster to them on the inside of the quartz crystals?

I took pictures of some of the anatase here:

And Joe I'd like to borrow some of yours for photographing if you think you have some good specimens.
