What better stage could there be?  Atop this large metallic tree sculpture at the North Carolina Museum of Art, this lone mocking bird was in control.  He owned that tree and he knew it.

I couldn't help but see a topographic map in the bathroom glass tile.  The lines are coming from the siding of the house next to us.

I asked him for some words of wisdom and he beckoned me closer.  In a lifeless tone he said, "It is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Great Cat's-eye!

This is our first spring at our new house since we moved last summer.  It's been exciting to see what flowers will emerge every few days or each week.  The former owners were nature lovers and they planted some neat plants for us to enjoy.

Here are photos of a few plants that have made an appearance so far.

1.  Bleeding Hearts -  a rare native NC plant.
2.  Blue Violet - a fairly common NC plant.
3.  An unidentified white flower - not native, and I'm still trying to identify it.
4.  An unidentified moss with a British soldier (lichen).

Great flower photos Dennis!  Here's a blue caterpillar with penguins I found in Pittsboro the other day.

EDIT:  After some quick research, I found that this is the Forest Tent caterpillar.
