I have quite a bit of Lee county calcite. Once I find out how not to make huge pictures I will post some more of the more interesting ones

I was out at the Clegg Mine this past weekend for 2.5 hours, managed to find some azurite and malachite- nothing spectacular. I called a number posted on no trespassing signs to ask permission and was given permission but it turns out that the person the number was attached to is not the land owner- he was just a past lessee. I found this out when I was POLITELY informed by someone assigned by the land owners to monitor the property, that it is now closed to visitors. They've been having problems with 4 wheelers and judging by the amount of brass on the ground, target practice with .45 and .223. It's pathetic that a bunch of knuckleheads that weren't raised right F' it up for the rest of us.

Yeah Joe, it's a pretty interesting place. It's amazing how much of the dumps is unvegetated considering how long it's been inactive.
