** Burgin Quartz Prospect Trip ** 3/30/2013 update

I posted the wrong price initially -- sorry about that, please read again.

Weather permitting, I'm planning on heading to the Burgin this Easter weekend on Saturday the 30th.  I'm inviting all who are interested. The usual time 9am arrival, dig till dark and take home all crystals you can find.
$50.00 minimum entry fee --  so we'll need at least 5 people at $10.00 each to make the dig.  Any additional people is still $10.00 each.

Click the link for the google map coordinate --

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=35.227817,+-80.150923&num=1&t=h&vpsrc=0&ie=UTF8&l...

Meet at the gate (green arrow on the map).

For all who would be first time diggers here, it is by appointment only and you cannot just show up at anytime with your money to dig.  Also, to everyone -- let me know if you're definitely coming so that I can let Mr. Burgin know what the turn out will be ahead of time.  If weather permits it should be a good dig.  Hope to see you there!

Check back here prior to leaving to make sure the dig is still a go as weather or other circumstances may cancel the trip.  As of right now the forecast shows no rain.  Grin

Scott, I'd love to go, but I have a local dig planned already.  I will be at Burgin on 04/20 for the DMC dig sponsored by the Gaston County Club.  The owner said he was going to push some boulders around before we go.  Calling for "partly cloudy" and mid to high 50's on Saturday so you should be fine.

The price is based on attendance, Mr burgin won't do a dig with out $50.00 going into his pocket and a minimum of a $10.00 a head if the group is over five people.  In the past he has given breaks to people with children.  Camping is usually available for an extra $5.00 a night.

Thanks for the info!
I'm ready to get back down to Burgin and give it a go.
It's been a while.

Dusty, this would be a good time for you to check out some quartz diggin.

We'll see who else might be able to make it.
Sorry you already got plans, Gramps. Maybe next time.

Joe

HA! Well we'll see, Dusty. It wouldn't be the first time the newbs
showed the old timers how to do it. Wink
Anyway, glad to hear you're going to try and make it.
I hope you can.
I'm waiting to hear from Ryan, Pahound, and another newbie, Rob.
Sounds like we're going to have a good turn out.
I'm getting 'cited! Need to sharpen some chisels and wrap
some joints, (like wrists, elbows, knees, etc.)
Lookin' forward to it! Smiley

We had a great group of people show up at the Burgin Prospect this weekend.  I think we all had fun, and I look forward to digging with you all again.  Joe and I will have a report with pictures up pretty soon.  I'm still trying to recover.  All that rock and dirt moving drained everything I had.
