I am a Land Surveyor and live in Wake County. Excited about learning as much as possible about rocks and local geology. I sometimes find specimens and wanted to find out more about them. I also wanted to find where to keep my eyes open for specimens.
Thanks, Looking forward to joining board.

Welcome Bushaxe, Glad you found the board.
You have the perfect job for checking out the countryside.
But you are going to want to keep tabs on the land you survey
so you can go back when they actually start moving some earth.
It's hard to see anything in natural or wooded areas, with a foot of leaves and humus covering the ground.
That's why checking the creeks will usually give you a good idea what's around.
Check out some of the info on the board, I hope it helps,
and I'll try and make a list of some good reading material
about the geology around here.
Post some pics of some of your finds and we'll make up all
kinds of names for it.
Good Hunting,
Joe
