Congratulations John! Cheesy
This piece had your name all over it!
This is a study piece to beat all study pieces.
You have been spending way too much time on those
imported "foren" specimens and, in my humble opinion,
are in need of something to study from homegrown dirt!
Well Done! Smiley
Too bad the Hickory and Tar Heel shows conflict this year,
or I could deliver it to you by hand.
Let me check what the shipping would be and we'll figure out
how to get the 7 x 7 inch "Big Ugly" to it's new home. Cool

And, yes, I believe this is another "First" for RHL!
You are the winner of the first ever auction on RHL!
Boy Howdy! We're in the money now!  Cheesy

All excited!!  I wanted to come to Raleigh this year as well. We need better planning so this does not happen again. The Hickory Show moved to this new weekend last year. We were next door to a gun show and folks could not get a parking space for 1/4 mile sometimes. Plus hundreds of guys running around with guns make gem dealers edgy...Now we have a world class pottery show next door. Plus anyone that goes to the Pottery Show gets free tickets to the mineral show. I just stumbled into your auction last night. I am not on the forum as much as I use to be. I guess you're just lucky, John. Smiley
I'll send you a message.

Yes, hopefully the two shows can avoid this in the future.

Joe I can't believe I am getting the "Big Ugly" after all your hard work. But thanks for the opportunity to have this cluster to study. Smiley Cheesy Smiley Cheesy Cheesy

Joe, if you haven't already sent it, I would like to add some crystals to the package before you send it off.  Thanks.

The "Big Ugly" has arrived at its new home on the ridge in western North Carolina.  It is a wonderful group of crystals, double terminations, inclusions  and veins of hematite.  Joe your super job of preparing the specimen has been illustrated so well by you. Thanks again for the opportunity to own the cluster from the Super Bowl Pocket. Smiley Smiley
