The Baldwin Place Farm.  It was a beautiful sunny day.  The cool morning air reminded us that fall was just three days away.  As the members gathered their tools and buckets Randy Davis the property owner welcomed us and pointed at the trailer attached to a tractor where we could pile all of our tools and buckets.  Not only did he bring our tools to the mine but had a wash bin set up at the mine for us to wash our specimens.  That is what I call a great host!

To the Lost Cause Mine!  Angle plated quartz oddities coming from this location are unique, and interesting to say the least.  And since amethyst and smoky druzy has been found within some of the angled pockets, interest in collecting the material was high.  Along the way we saw a particular type of mushroom growing everywhere.

Here is the vein I was digging on.  A vertical vein that seemed to cross the entire mine area.

We all had a great time digging the vein.  We filled our buckets and our rock appetites. Thanks again Randy for a great time at the Baldwin Place Farm.
