Just testing my ability to post pictures now that the forum resizes photos automatically!!!  The sand had pooled near a slight waterfall.  Kind of cool and unexpected treat when you are looking for fossils.

Yes, it is a fun place to go.  Lots of teeth and other fossils.  If anyone wants more information on collecting there, I'd be happy to help.

thanks Julie! I have been meaning to go to Green Hill for ages, and when I have time, I'd like to ask you if it's a good time (river height) and any techniques you could share. I've seen some videos of people searching, so I have some ideas, but even advice on where to park and time of day, etc. would be so helpful. Maybe in spring when it gets a little warmer!

I started finding garnets in green mill run last summer and have gotten one nice sized one cut and set into a ring. Good clarity and bright color. I use a gold pan and concentrate the garnet sands.
