Pick Handle Straightening

In a WV antique mall I bought a miner's pick with a warped handle. I recently laid it on wet ground, supported the handle end with a steel plate (letting the pick head serve its end), and backed the van over the middle of the warp. Yesterday I reversed the van to see outcome. Is nearly straight, but also frozen from the current cold snap. I wonder if thawing will bring back any warp?

Ain't nothing like good ol'American kno'how.
Looks good enough to use. But that's a lot of work.
Maybe it will warp again when it thaws? Cheesy

Great ingenuity Tim4d.  The handle looks good as new!

Ok weather thawed this afternoon. The bend shown in second photo above is about the extent of the original warp, on the opposite side of handle. Here you can see results more clearly. Pick is resting on its handle head, so it should be perpindicular to floor instead of this tilt. However most of the warp is at the head end, so straightness from below the pick head to end of handle isn't too bad. The chalk line reflects both the remaining warp and how the handle end twists a bit counter clockwise.

The twist; the business end; it was spray painted this copper color when I bought it. -- Whatever. 😐
I have no background in metallurgy, so I have no idea if this is cast iron or forged steel. Regardless, it's hefty and packs a punch.

So the proof will come with the using. I have some overgrown mine dumps in mind for its first outing.

Think I should sharpen the tips?  Sinks into rocky soil just fine as is.

I am hoping it proves more durable than the big box stores offerings.  I've bent Lowes picks if used for anything tougher than dirt/clay.
