Went up last week to see my son in Toledo and stopped in southern Ohio to pick up some colorful flint near Zanesville.  These are just a couple of chunks of the stuff.

Thanks guys.  It was easy collecting and the only problem was picking out the pieces to keep.

I sometimes  teach silver smithing to beginners in their homes. One lady had relatives in Normandy  France, after a break for the Easter holiday we started the classes again, she presented me a 2 lb. bag of flint from Normandy beach. Turns out that the chalk formation in Dover England  extends under the channel  into France.  So if you have friends  traveling in Europe there's alot they can collect.
