What is this glass cutten rock?

Hello fellow rock finders! I moved to NC and was digging away after the storm we just had lately and dug up this cool rock. What cha think?

Looks like quartz that was trying to crystallize but never quite made it.  Where in NC are you?

Hi, snagy I'm with Collin. It looks like it may have either been part of a crystal that broke apart sometime in the past or it just didn't have enough room to crystallize with facets. Many times the pockets in which quartz can form are too small so the quartz grows until it contacts with the rough uneven walls of the pocket. Good find though.  You may find crystals nearby by the looks of that piece.
