I may get a chance to prospect but thought I would mention the new areas of interest up near wake forest.  HWY 98 where it joins the bypass is all dug up.  Got to be several acres of open ground there.  Also, coming into Youngseville there are several big areas of new construcion  If you get there before me good luck.

Thanks for the heads up Dan. Amethyst has been found very near this area. Who knows what might turn up.   Cheesy

I went to the Youngsville site today -- it's YUGE but most of the area is bulldozed flat. But there are many mounds and banks of bulldozed clay to look over, and one small trench-cut area. Minerals are similar to other sites in the Wake Forest area I've seen. There's lots of shapeless, non-crystal smoky quartz, whitish feldspar, and some mica. Some quartz-feldspar and quartz-mica combination pieces. And areas with lots of rotten (disintegrating) white feldspar. But no crystals.

Thanks for the update Victor. I didn't get the chance to take a look this weekend. Maybe one day we'll eventually find where a finger of the amethyst zone crosses highway 1.

There's a lot of Magnetite up in the Youngsville area, so anyone
checking out those sites might want to bring a magnet with them.
