Guess I'm the first intro for 2017. My name is David. I'm from North Carolina originally, and currently stationed at Ft. Bragg. I've been collecting since I was a kid, and my travels for the Army have afforded some opportunities for collecting I would not otherwise have had. My favorite minerals are anything with a crystal form; I'm amazed that something like that can form in the earth with no help from us.

Welcome jeepcj779! I share your interest in the "crystal form". My grandmother introduced me to the world of minerals when she gave me a book when I was a kid:
Simon & Schuster's Guide to Rocks and Minerals
. I too couldn't believe that these things existed without any help from man -- and so began my fascination. Hopefully you can find answers to your questions and especially invigorate your rockhounding prowess and desire here at RHL.
