So here in late March I'm fortunate enough to jump in the jeep with my nephew for a week and head west on no plans rockhound vacation. We are planning on heading toward Arkansas then towards Arizona then towards utah then back to Wisconsin.

Starting point is WI  We plan to hit a quartz quarry In Arkansas but do not have any actual plans,( recommendations)  then we plan to head towards the petrified forest and some the of the mines skirting it.  After that pretty much open with no general plans, Just a general route. We also plan to look for Agates in Arizona.

What I would like to know is if there are any must stops during this route that I should know about. Thanks in advance!

Hi cliftc06.  Unfortunately, I have no experience digging out west but I'll try and provide some good references.  There's a neat website "FindingRocks.com" where there is a good source of rockhounding locations you can search by State.
