Facebook friend Aaron Van Dorn slabbed petrified bog stone and it reminded me of two things: 1) A famous painting, and 2) Joe's eastern Chatham County meta-silt and mud stone. What do you think of that?
Aaron operates Red Dirt Rockhounds rock and lapidary shop in Woodward, OK. If anyone on the lounge is out that way, Aaron is having an open house tomorrow through Sunday at 701 main st
Woodward OK 73801.

Well I wish I could find some that color! Love the blues.
I've heard the term "bogstone" before. Very apt.
What's the hardness?
Thanks for the pic, and the info, Tim.

I encouraged Aaron to join the Lounge so let's hope he does and we can ask. I imagine he's a bit busy with his open house, but I'll check back with him next week.
