Typical rockhound day in Wake Forest.

One thing that is difficult to convey in my videos and reports on this forum is how much work goes into it. Over 90% of the time is spent prospecting. That is actively searching for the minerals we want. Unfortunately, prospecting does not include finding what you're looking for. Admittedly I'm a little at fault. When I only put up videos where I'm successful it may appear that I can just walk out my back door and find crystals everywhere. The truth of the matter is that nine days out of ten we don't find anything. The key to success is that you have to persist and actually get your butt out there in the field again and again. You can't win unless you play.

And so I present to you a typical day of rockhounding.
