Putting this in just for you, Scott. Smiley
There's a Frank Cox Gem, Mineral, and Bead Show at the fairgrounds this weekend and I went out today to look around and say Howdy.
Even with a third of the dealers selling beads, a third jewelry, there were some real nice mineral, fossil, and rough dealers. Several from NC. Free admission.

Anyway, this was not out for display or sale but one dealer, knowing my fondness for quartz, especially included quartz, pulled this out for me to flip over.
Would love to get some better pics!

Namibia, Amethyst, Hematite Tessin Phantom;

Ooh that's pretty!!! I realy need to learn all the terminology but that really is stunning, I have only seen the purple cloud thing on brandburgs? (Ok spelling AND terminology lol). Has the hematite made it go glittery down the middle or is it just the light?

Yes, the glitter is little flakes of hematite on the phantom crystal in the middle.

For our own local version of this I suggest anyone interested to check out 3 posts in the Adventure Diary on the Home Page.
In the Quartz Fissure Digging column on the right check out the Chatham County posts July 25, 2009 thru Aug. 15-16, 2009.

The top one is defo my fav.

The second one looks cool though- looks quite striking with how dark it is inside. I have never really thought about crystals maybe attracting different sexes more but to me the second is defo more of a manly one! I don't just like the girly ones by any means but that one looks mega manly!! I think it's growling!!! Haha

Wow, those crystals were awesome.  I wish I went now -- might have purchased some of those.

Well, just so you know, the Amethyst Double-Term Hematite Tessin Phantom from Namibia
would set you back about $ 2,000.00.
And, yes, I was a bit nervous holding it over the concrete pavement to try and get a pic.
Not sure what the price on the Chlorite Tessin Phantom would be.

Wow 2000! Just a tad out of my price range that lol. Tbh I think I'd be scared to even look at it if I did own it, it would be buried somewhere in a steel container filled with cotton wool!
