One of the first steps in prospecting is to search place names.  If it's "Old Mine Road" chances are there was a mine somewhere near that road!  Once I was map searching an area of Virginia for a former fee site referenced in old rockhound literature.  When I tried a different map program, a certain lane was labeled "Amethyst Lane" -- so that sort of put an x on the map!

Well, lizzie, we old-timers don't have to think, we just know.
Heck, some of us old-timers can't even remember what we were thinking about. Signs and names can be very helpful. Cheesy
