We found this one evening while we were out on a dig.. we had about a 6 foot dirt pile next to us so it was pretty deep down.  I have been told it was everything from a mastodon tooth to a fern,  The fern i can roll with that because you can almost see the resemblance of a stem going up the middle.  But still no confident identification.   I was told by professors at the college that it was definitely SOMETHING, but not exactly sure what... lol

Nice! I'm moving to Florida soon, so I'll have to start getting into fossils I suppose.
