Demantoid and Topazolite Garnets

Two views of matrix covered in light green demantoid and yellow-brown to brown topazolite garnets; piece is roughly 4 X 3 inches, and 2 inches thick. This specimen is from Madagascar, and there's a really interesting youtube video showing how these garnets are mined there: The Madagascar Demantoid Garnet Expedition. Mining is only possible at lower tide, as high tide floods the area each day. The most valuable demantoids are a deep green, and the light greens are more common. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7c8c5on0fA
The background music gets a little weird towards the video's end.

Thanks for the link, Victor. Very very interesting. And you appreciate and R-E-S-P-E-C-T( Wink) specimens so much more when you know where they come from.
With sea level rise I wonder how much longer they will be able to mine there?
