I recently drove to Girard, GA, where Savannah River Agate is easily found. It's really chert, I think. I did dig a little and found some really large ones, including a fossil bivalve. There was some really nice druzy too. If anyone heads down there and digs, be sure to fill the holes back in as it is a road where the stuff is located.
