Well, yeah, it's a water worn round creek pebble rock that kind of looks like a fossilized garbanzo bean.
What do you think it is?
When a stone is polished, whether naturally or by man, a lot of the "tells" to identify what mineral it is are hidden or removed,
so you have to run tests like;
Is it harder or softer than quartz?
What color is the "Streak"?
Does it fluoresce?
Is it magnetic?
It's probably a piece of quartz.

Just by looking at it I would guess quartz. But as Joe said there's only so much one can distinguish through photos. Here's a really good explanation of the Mohs hardness test which Joe was referring to. Use this chart to figure out the hardness of that stone and we'll all me much closer to a definitive answer  Wink
