Meteorite or just Volcanic Rock

Hello All,
I found this rolling around in the surf on Lake Superior when there were large waves bashing the shore.  It just seemed molten in parts and I like the color.  When I got home I found it to be magnetic as well.  Without slicing it open does it appear to be a meteorite or basalt?

Hello WWalt, thanks for the pictures! Smiley
I'm going to go with the Vesicular Basalt.
Here's a paragraph I found on the WikiLink for Basalt about the magnetism.

"The mineralogy of basalt is characterized by a preponderance of calcic plagioclase feldspar and pyroxene. Olivine can also be a significant constituent.[46] Accessory minerals present in relatively minor amounts include iron oxides and iron-titanium oxides, such as magnetite, ulvöspinel, and ilmenite.[41] Because of the presence of such oxide minerals, basalt can acquire strong magnetic signatures as it cools, and paleomagnetic studies have made extensive use of basalt.[47] "

The indentations you see there are more characteristic of vesicles or air bubbles that were trapped while it was forming.  Even though this resembles a meteorite, the form of indentations in real meteorites are called regmaglypts and when compared side by side with vesicles are quite different.
