I found this in a vug in the dark brown Girard chert I found on the  side of the road. The long wave UV is white, the SW is green. As usual I forgot a size thing, it's about as big as a quarter.

Cool vug. Looks like a primary and secondary coating of the botryoidal quartz(?) growth. Don't know what mineral gave the secondary coating that color? And we don't know what created the vug in the first place?

Joe, thanks for the article. Turns out I have a few of those Trochocythus (probably misspelled that) corals.

When I saw that green color I got pretty excited.
