I didn’t see a thread for Charlotte, so
I figured I would start one.

Yes, you're finding some nice crystals down there! Smiley
I know they're there but I haven't been to Charlotte in over 20 years except to drive by on I-85. Keep on hunting and thanks for the pictures. The crystal in your second picture looks like it has some little spots of Hematite or Iron Oxides on the side of it?

To post multiple pictures on the same entry, click on the arrow by the word "Attachments" to the left and another Browse box will magically appear. Wink

Awesome crystals. Were those surface finds, or have you found the parent vein and are able to dig those crystal in situ?

mainly surface finds. I’m hoping to get a little time out there to dig now that deer season is over. Those clusters came out of a construction site where they had exposed a vein. There were boulders with huge vugs, but the rock was really hard and we didn’t really have the means to get the crystals out. They ended up getting hauled off before we could get to the good stuff

Wow, that's a huge crystallized vug there. I would have come back immediately with a hammer and chisel.  Wink  Too bad they hauled it all away, but that's the ephemeral nature of construction sites -- you got to get it as soon as you can.
