New Rocks!!!

Finally got out yesterday.
Had a great day. Actually is was a ride to hunt for a new firewood cutting area. Headed in to the area. Went through the first creek crossing. Second creek crossing there is water running down the road. Get to the creek itself and there is 3-4 feet of water at the crossing. A beaver has moved in dammed the creek up. With spring melt starting water is running a little high. Will have to go back in a few weeks and tear the dam out. Turned around headed out. Seen another road we hadn't been on. Turned onto it and drove up. Found a new spot that has little benches on it with a lot of dead wood standing. Don't know how good it will be until we drop one. On the way out seen 50 or so head of elk. Actually seen a couple hundred head of elk yesterday. All in small herds.
Left that area and got back out the the main road. Decided to drive up the main road to a couple of spot to rock hunt. Found a handful of petrified wood. Need a major rain storm to was some soil didn't find a lot of pet wood. Drove off into another area and pick up a lot of agates. Some with a little size to them some tumbler size. All in all it felt good to get out in the wilds and enjoy the day.
The rocks are soaking right now will work on them a little today. It's going to be a while before they are all cleaned up and pictures.

It's always nice to get out and explore. Sounds like a great day!
You took a road you haven't taken before, saw a lot of Elks, found a beaver doing what beavers do, and a bucket of rocks.
Doesn't get much better than that!  Smiley

Been a long winter and cold spring. Snow line is roughly 7,000 feet.
We sit at 5000 feet at the house. Takes a while for things to melt and you can get out into the hills. Wink
