awesome job on the video!

I had a lot of fun showing you a new hobby, any excuse to get out and walk in the woods. That was definitely a good day. I walked around in a spot yesterday and I can officially put a close to the 2011 morel season for this area. In a spot that I picked continuously for a week, with new growth showing up every 3 or 4 days, I saw a total of 4 yesterday, 2 somewhat fresh but probably ones I missed, and 2 completely dried ones that I obviously missed.
Overall I guess I found around 400 this year. It was great getting out and showing you and Joe how to look. I'm happy that Joe was able to locate some in your neck of the woods.

Really enjoyed the video, thanks for putting it together!

Yes, great job on the video, Scott.
I'm glad you followed thru to the eating them part. Smiley
I really enjoyed the hunt. It takes you into terrain you usually
walk around. I got more into seeing how many different spots
I could find them growing than how "many" I could find.
I did not find any to the east of me, on the Rolesville Granite.
Don't know if that means a darn thing, but it was interesting
to me.
But we got a late start to the season. Can't wait for next year!
Thanks, Dave, for getting us on to this. The search is on!

Joe

Scott great video.  I just finished supper but I am hungry after watching the video.  Found my first morels about two years ago under my neighbors apple tree. Smiley

Yes I hear they like the American Elm, White Ash, Tulip Poplar and apple trees.  And I was very suprised at how tasty they were.  Can't wait for next season.
