This massive crystal was unearthed by the late Gary McCain in Union county NC.Gary was a great rockhound and friend.He got my father started,who got me started rockhounding.From this location came many large smoky crystals.Some with tourmaline,Some with garnet,And I know of 2 beautiful citrine-smokys from the location. My father unearthed a termanation of smoky a 32 Lbs. I hope to return soon to find more of these great smokys..So here's to you Gary, We give you many thanks for leading the way to what is now my favorite hobby..

Now that's a keeper!  The hobby does have great rewards for those lucky enough to get bitten by the bug.  I believe that location would also be my favorite place to dig.  You are very lucky to have such a spot.  Great job on that one.
