Cranberry Ore Slabs

Someone gave me this big piece of rock from the area
around the old Cranberry Iron Mines of Cranberry, NC.
Minerals found in this rock include Magnetite, Epidote,
Garnet, Pink Feldspar, and Optical Calcite.
The green Epidote areas are supposed to polish well for
cabochons.
We'll have to see about that. Wink

Thought some of you might like to see some pics of it. Smiley

That is just a cool rock. I have seen the cabs, and they are pretty. But the rock is cool in a large section too. If it were awhile ago, they would make cool ashtrays.
