My family is heading down to south Florida in a few weeks and I wanted to try and visit a mine that produces calcified fossils. The owner was a vendor at one of the shows last year and told me rockhounds were welcome...can't find his card now.  Does anyone know who and where? Thanks

Are you thinking of Ruck's Pit? I have a number for Edwin Rucks, Sr. I thought they sold the mine part of their land though.

Rob, take a chisel and small sledge with you too as there are big conglomerates of the clams and that stuff that holds them together is like concrete.  but you can get a good "yard rock" of them with a bit of work.  Other than that, a rake or hoe is good to have.  have fun!
