Hate to post all the time but well went collecting again today and these have tube things thru them. Disregard the green one in the upper left it snuck in there.

Thanks for looking!

Well yeah, Alan, those are some strange lookin' "tube" things allright. Wink
You're going to have to give me a couple days to think about them.
In the meantime maybe someone else will recognize them.
My guess is it has something to do with aliens, but I don't want to jump the gun. Smiley
It would be helpful to know a little about "where" and the environment they were found in.
Trying to decide if they're fossils or a rock formation.
They look like barnacles or some sort of coral? Undecided

Joe

hehehe ya i think you are right they are lil ships and those are the ports the aliens came out of. I have a ton more of that material. I also found what looks like a fossilized shell feels like quartz when you hold it. Found in rocky exposure on Cimarron river by Loyal Oklahoma.

Heck, that shell almost looks "opalized"!
It's nice to know you have atleast ONE "pretty" rock, Alan. Wink

Sure looks like a shell to me. If it is "fossilized" then it might be quartz now.
Shell replaced by Silica.
I wouldn't want to do anything to the under-side but I'm curious as heck
what a little light grinding and polishing would do to the top?
Nice piece. Thanks for the pics.

Maybe someone that knows a little about Oklahoma geology will get on here
and help explain some of those other "things".
You need to start looking for some "shiny" rocks! Grin

Thanks Joe. I learned a bit from this forum that's for sure. Learned a bit about the place I hunting at thru online and local talk. River channel cuts thru salt layers making it salty. Has some unique salt fish some people go to for aquarium collecting. Mostly on the rock hunting side are agates, jasper, fossils, selenite crystals. Basalt roses. Gold further west some pan for. Forgot gypsum also.
