	I saw this exact picture the other day along with some other pretty awesome fossils but, i cant find the link anymore.

	The position of the tooth doesn't make sense and the other site the picture is on there is a discussion of the piece.

	I don't think it's so much a fake as a display piece. It is a neat combination and a nice way to show off the tooth.

	2nd generation in my family to walk upright!

	I guess fake is a poor choice of words. the tooth is real, the vertebra is real but they were assembled by a person to achieve the appearance it sits in now.

	You're spot on Mark. If the whale was attacked by a megaladon, the tooth would be in the side of the vertebra section, not on the top, which would have had another vertebra segment right up against it. It's hard to imagine a scenario where this could be real. Plus it looks glued in to me.
