Well yeah, Fire, I can do both.
Now the book is "The Formative Cultures of the Carolina Piedmont" by Joffre Lanning Coe.
It is a "must" read and reference for NC archaeology,
and you will really enjoy it because most of the sites they talk about
are right down the road from you.
Joffre Lanning Coe is also the archaeologist that excavated and then recreated Town Creek Indian Mound.
He worked on Town Creek for over 50 years.
Here is a link to where you can order a copy of the book from;

And there are quite a few different on-line artifact identification sites to choose from
but it's hard to say one is best for the whole country.
Even tho artifacts may have similar form and shape,
depending where they come from they can have different names
and very different age dates.
So, for instance, if you were looking for info on a point found in Florida
you would want to consult a site that specializes in Florida.
The site I use for general country-wide information is Lithics.net;

Happy Hunting, Fire!
