I was looking at an old issue of Rock & Gem and noticed an article on Bruce Mines Puddingstone (Feb 2009). Here's a good site with pictures and information on the Bruce Mines Puddingstone:  http://www.rocksforkids.com/R&M/pudding_stone.htm

Joe, I know you have a "Puddingstone" that's more local.  Perhaps you can post a picture so we can see the difference between these two.

I think it's safe to say all "Pudding stone" are conglomerates.
The size of the formations may vary quite a bit, but in the end
they are comprised by clasts of mostly rounded gravel
"cemented by silicone and iron bearing waters".

The "famous" Tennessee Pudding Stone was a layer dug thru
at an old iron mine in Tennessee, so the brown chocolate looking cement
has a slight silvery metallic sheen to it when polished.
The clasts are mostly rounded pebbles of chert.

Here are some pics of Tennessee Pudding Stone with one piece
of a local NC layer of conglomerate, or pudding stone.
Some pudding stone is just prettier than others. Wink

I was wondering if anyone would have a comment about my use of the word "silicone"
in the quotation marked words of my first paragraph above.
It is a direct quote from the history of Bruce Mines Puddingstone
from the link Scott provided.

Well, almost.........glasscone! Smiley
Depends on the manufacturer of the glass as to whether it
has any "silicone" in it.

I was just trying to point out that Geology for Kids used the word "silicone" incorrectly
when describing the formation of the Pudding stone.
Silicone is a synthetic product. They should have used the words
silica, or silicon, or silicon dioxide. Tongue

I didn't know there was a silicone.  Which in the case of the website, probably misspelled.  It is just that I didn't realize "silicone" was a word.
