Thanks for the pic, Scott.
I was thinking siderite when Collin posted pictures of this material earlier.
But now that I get an even better look at it, I don't know. HA! Tongue
It looks more like little pieces of feldspar forming the clumps?
Would like to see these with even better magnification.

Keep in mind I haven't put this specimen in acid so there is definitely some iron oxide staining.  But it certainly looks like feldspar or dolomite now.

very cool for sure! nice job on the closeups.
dolomite sounds good, too.
and I wonder if that fine white coating is chalcedony or some other mineral?

i think it's a thin rind of botryoidal chalcedony covering rhombic dolomite crystals on quartz.
