Welcome to Rockhound lounge. Working for a concrete contractor will go a long way for you in rockhounding. Fresh graded ground provides an excellent opportunity to see the insitu veins and lead you to crystalization. Happy hunting.

Yeah, what he said. Smiley
Welcome to the Board!
The radiating pyrophyllite from the Ocaneechie(sp?) Mtn. quarry is good material for trading, if you can find it. They haven't allowed rock collectors in the quarry in along time. 5 - 10 years ago I stopped in and asked if I could buy a pick-up truck load of it and they said no.
You probably know this all ready, but you can still take the nature walk along the river and sometimes find a piece or two.
Happy Hunting!
