Novelty Ore Cart

I found this small (~2 in. long) copper wheelbarrow yesterday and decided to turn it into an ore cart.  I filled the wheelbarrow with pieces of Spruce Pine pegmatite that contained quartz, feldspar, muscovite, and pieces of almandine garnet.  I added a few small Emeralds (< 0.25 in.) and whitish to pale yellow Beryl crystals from the Big Crabtree Emerald mine that I collected in 1961, and included a small piece of Fluorapatite and a muscovite crystal from the Hoppus Mine that I collected in 1965.

I have added four photos of the finished ore cart below.

Enjoy,

Dennis

Thanks for the compliments, Joe, Rebecca, & Scott.  I enjoyed making it.

I'm planning to go buy another miniature wheelbarrow tomorrow.  I plan to fill it with ruby and sapphire xls., rhodolite, almandine, rutile, sillimanite, and other small specimens that that I found during the many trips I made in the 1980s to the Caler Fork (Cowee Valley) ruby mines.  I still have many specimens from Jacob, Shuler, Gibson, and Holbrook ruby mines that are difficult to display.
