Massive fire agate with multiple colors...

I found a cool new fire agate spot, I collected more but this is the biggest one I found, everything else is still in a bucket of vinegar, I'm curious if this thing is valuable, I've never seen one this big?

Whoee, Rock, I like this new spot a lot better! Smiley
That is an awesome looking chunk of fire agate rough! It even has a Mousekateer sitting on top of it!Congratulations on your new find and thanks for the pictures!

I have no idea how pieces like that are priced or sold because you can't see all the fire until you cut into it. And cutting a piece like that would be a slow and careful job.
But look at the size of the brown fire agate layer in that piece. About an inch thick! Drool, Drool! Tongue

I would suggest you contact fireagate.com to see what they have to say about value and what they offer you.
You've probably read this site all ready but check it out,
http://www.fireagate.us/fire-agate-rough-buyers-guide/fire-agate-rough-buyers-gu...

I hope this new spot is one that you can continue to collect from.
You are going to need a cutter, or learn to do it yourself. This material could possibly pay for the equipment you would need.

Selling rocks is as much, or more, work than finding them, so the second half of your enterprise is just beginning. Don't be impatient.
Get a couple of the smaller pieces from this new site cut to get an idea of how good it is and something you can show people.

And if I were you, I'd be pretty dang excited! Cheesy

Thanks Joe Smiley There's a lot of material, I just have to chisel it out, a lot of this stuff reminds me of boulder opal, even thin peices have multiple colors, even pink fire! I just put oil on them, there not polished and I only windowed a small part of that one bright one.

Joe this is some of the samples, that bright peice came from the peice with the blade marks.

Thanks for windowed pics, Rock. It really looks like you are into the GOOD STUFF now! Congratulations on your find!
I love the drusy quartz pockets and of course, the wonderful fire agate. This looks like "strong" rock!
Hurry up and figure out how you're going to sell it. I want to buy some! Smiley
Oh yes, go get as much as you can. Wink

Wowzers.  That's a big chunk you found - congrats!  Most of the fire agate I've seen is little bits (polished, etc) so a big massive hunk like that looks super cool!  Looks like you can even see some fire in it just the way it is.
