Whoee, Rock, I like this new spot a lot better!
That is an awesome looking chunk of fire agate rough! It even has a Mousekateer sitting on top of it!Congratulations on your new find and thanks for the pictures!
I have no idea how pieces like that are priced or sold because you can't see all the fire until you cut into it. And cutting a piece like that would be a slow and careful job.
But look at the size of the brown fire agate layer in that piece. About an inch thick! Drool, Drool!
I would suggest you contact
fireagate.com to see what they have to say about value and what they offer you.
You've probably read this site all ready but check it out,
http://www.fireagate.us/fire-agate-rough-buyers-guide/fire-agate-rough-buyers-gu...I hope this new spot is one that you can continue to collect from.
You are going to need a cutter, or learn to do it yourself. This material could possibly pay for the equipment you would need.
Selling rocks is as much, or more, work than finding them, so the second half of your enterprise is just beginning. Don't be impatient.
Get a couple of the smaller pieces from this new site cut to get an idea of how good it is and something you can show people.
And if I were you, I'd be pretty dang excited!
