Earths Language.
Nov 30th, 2018 at 4:35pm
Print Post
Sometimes when the earth shifts just at the right moment, it becomes the catalyst for
alchemy that's been brewing deep in the earth for many thousands of years. And on
such rare occasions the once invisible scaffolding might be made visible, a peek behind
the curtain, a glimpse at the building blocks of matter and the language of the Earth.

Superb pics of a fantastic story, er I mean specimen.  Smiley
I love this type of quartz; the interesting ones displaying exactly what he said.
Trying to read what happened or how it happened consumes a lot of my rock hunting time.
Thanks for sharing.

Love the intro, Scott.  Smiley
You captured some interesting examples. The 3rd picture is like the separating of continents! The last picture looks like an avalanche!
Very interesting. Thanks for showing. Would love to see more of those type pictures.

Thank you for the feedback. And of course obliging to more pictures is quite easy since it is so fun. So here's a few more I found interesting.

Thus far all crystals have been from Montgomery County, NC. The following is a crystal I found this past Sunday in Chatham County, NC. The message is clear. . .

Nice pics, Scott.  It looks like a blue Anhinga got trapped during the shift in this crystallization.  See photo attached.

I'll see yours & raise you 1 "braile" crystal. They are actually indentations, but with the lighting, they look like raised bumps. Reverse side (pic 3) shows some other indentations. Pic 6 shows the "braile" through a clear facet face. Kind of an odd shaped crystal as well. 2.5 cm wide x 1.5 cm thick x 4 cm tall. Flat & odd angled for the facets. The 1st pic is at 12.5x using my dino-lite. The rest are my camera. Sorry the pics aren't as sharp as yours.

Killer crystal daves64! That’s a very neat pattern. Possibly the negatives of micro crystals of another mineral that has weathered or dissolved away.

The following pictures are all from a single crystal I found on the surface of a construction site on District Drive in Raleigh, NC.

Behold, the village city landscapes, the mountainous terranes, the island plateaus, the bizarre but beautiful design of nature.
