The soil here is very acidic and will often times 'etch' and stain the exterior of the crystals. Here's one that at first glance looks like a real clunker, but if you look a little closer, it's pretty interesting.  Shocked
All of these pictures are different angles of the same crystal.

Here's a good example of a very Elestial Crystal with a white etching or coating.
I took these pictures years ago after people starting asking me,''You know people used to use quartz crystals for time and space travel, don't ya.'' To which I would reply, ''Oh yeah, I have proof.''

Yep, proof is in the pudding and pictures don't lie. As you can see this is a Mother Space Station where crystal travelers can rest, get something to eat, and re-fuel. The exterior is heavily etched from battling the elements of space and time, but look at all those thrusters. Warp speed in a nano second.
Ofcourse, the landing strip has to be on the protected bottom side of the ship as you can see in the last picture.

And, as you can see, time and space travel has it's casualties, too.
Looks like some unfortunate soul didn't have the smoothest of landings. I don't know if all the pock mark little craters in the side of the ship are from collisions with meteors, astroids and other space debris, or are bullet holes from enemy fire, either way it's not hard to imagine having a hard landing some days.
I rest my case.  Wink

Glad to hear it, Buckshot, Thank you.  Smiley
Here's another interesting piece from the cemetery I just finished taking pictures of. Had to get Rocky, the Miner Gnome to help hold it up.

Well, Yeah! I think we would all like to find more places in Wake County to find pieces like that!
Awesome finds for Wake! That's one gnarly crown on that first big crystal. The crown is about half the crystal! This definitely looks like it's from the same Zone as the Cemetery. Are you seeing any Rutile on any of that?

Man, keep up the good work and thank you very much for the pictures!

Oh yeah, once there's pavement or buildings on top of that site we'd love to add an 'exact' location to our map of those locations in Wake. We have a pretty detailed map going already for the "Smoky Zone" and would be happy to share it with you.
They're digging the heck out of 'The Zone' now and will be for a while. Wink
