Trying to relocate a galena site in Connecticut

Hello All,

As I said in my introduction, my uncle was a science teacher and he took us kids on mineral exploration trips when I was in the 7th and 8th grade.

I am trying to locate a place where we used to go and find fluorite and galena.  This place was near the Thomaston dam in Thomaston Connecticut.

The site was a railroad cut through the hills.  walked a total of 5 miles on Saturday looking for the location.  Granted is has been 50 plus years since I was at the location so my memory has faded and I was not able to locate it.  Is there anyone on here that may have visited the site?  I realize this is a long shot.

Thank you for any help

Hi Laurie,
Thank you
I did find that and see the marker on the map.  I think that is where is where I was walking on Saturday.. near as I can tell..
Things get a little faded after 50 years..I may have gone right by the site and missed it....  Thank you for taking the time to respond.
