I had some crush and run delivered a couple of months ago. While walking on it the weekend I spotted an interesting stone. I cut it this evening.

The rocks are where you find them. I know some rockhounds down at the coast that just love it when the Highway Dept reinforces the bridges down there with all that riprap. They grab their hammers and have a field day. Smiley
But that piece you found looks like some of the morphed 'Epidotized' rock we have around here. First picture is of some of my Chatham County Lime and the second is of some of the Scarlet Jasper from the quarry on Hwy 54 just west of Carrboro. As I've said before, I call it Chatham County Lime because it's that Lime color that helps you find it in the Wild. Cheesy

Thank you Joe. I called the company that delivered my gravel and asked where it came from. Looks like this was dug out of the quarry on Capital Blvd. explains why I have seen a bit of unakite in the gravel as well. 😉

I started polishing it last night, so I will post the final photo when I am done.
