I think it's pyrite...

So I busted one of my rocks open looking for gold and found this...I think it's pyrite but I don't want to remove it to check and destroy a good speciman. What do you think?

Looks like it to me.The red material is probably limonite,a weathering product of pyrite. You may also have some gold there.One location here in Maryland, the pyrite can be 50%gold. There was a pegmatite quarry that payed for the entire mining operation with the gold they reclaimed from pyrite. Unfortunately that quarry is now under Rt. 29 west of Columbia Md.
Keep hunting and read up on reclaiming gold from pyrite.
