One of my favorite specimens. I like how it has a flat bottom, could be used as a table or shelf piece.

That looks like pyrophyllite,. I'd look for kyanite or andalucite in the area .I'd also recommend getting a copy of the Peterson Feild Guide to rocks and minerals.I've been using this for over 50 years.I consider it the best one on the market .

I ran out of space on the title I was trying to spell radiating pyrophyllite. Thank you so much for looking and yes I do need to find a type of field guide for the rocks I'm finding. At the moment it's just cheaper to post and ask the community. It also gives me a type of journal or record of what I been finding and I can look back at my post to see the pictures I've taken. Thank you again for commenting

Yes, that's a healthy looking piece with very striking radiating pyro's.
And way to use this site! Yes, now that you have confirmed what your specimens are, and that there is interest, feel free to start a thread for pictures of your collection. Maybe under the county heading in the North Carolina thread? Good reference for everyone!  Smiley

And as CB mentioned, you are going to want to get your loupe out and start checking for some of the other accessory minerals found in this material. A little pocket of Andalucite crystals would be a very nice rare find!
Thanks for sharing. Smiley
